    Gosh! That’s a big question! We’ll try to simplify it a bit:>

Step 1: Discuss why a website is needed.
In our opinion, every company could use a website! However, you really need to plan in advance to make sure you understand the scope of what you’re trying to do. This is important from a time and money standpoint.

Step 2: Find someone you trust!
This is critical! You may be heading in to unchartered territories and you need to know that the agency you’re working with has your best interests at heart. Of course, they are going to profit from the adventure, but it needs to be a partnership!

When you’re interviewing prospective candidates, have as much information available as possible - due dates, budget info, etc.

Step 3: Work out a detailed project plan with your new partner.
There should be several phases to the plan:
    a. Obtaining a Domain Name and Web Host
    b. Creation of a Site Map
    c. Creation of Pages - including Quality Assurance and Approval cycles
    d. Posting to your domain
    e. Training/Turnover from partner to you
    f. Maintenance

This should get you started! Good luck with your site!!
