- Perry-Lecompton
High School was the last bond issue passed in 1968 to build a
new school. It was completed in 1970.
- The Perry-Lecompton
High School kitchen was built in 1970. At that time it served
only high school students.
- Approximately
20 years ago, food service was centralized at the high school
to improve efficiency. The USD 343 food service department now
prepares breakfast and lunch for the entire district in an outdated
and undersized kitchen.
- The buildings
currently in use at Williamstown Elementary School and Perry Middle
School were built many years ago. The original Perry Middle School
building (classrooms south of the gym) was built in 1971 and the
gymnasium (PHS Field House) was built in 1948. The initial Williamstown
Elementary School was completed in 1954.
- Research
has shown that school facilites of this age are at a point where
they are at the end of their lifespan.
