the State of Kansas will pay 22 cents of every dollar for projects
like this one. Our share of the total cost will be just 78%.
- Interest
rates for this type of school bond are near a 22-year low but
are beginning to head upward. Even a small interest rate increase
would mean a significant difference in the total cost of the project.
- Under present
school finance law our district will receive increased state funding
for two years once the new facilities are occupied.
- The board
of education has lowered the mill rate each of the past three
years. The past two school years have seen a lowering of the mill
rate in our district by more than 5 mills.
