The plan, at the time the land was purchased,
was to build there with the 1999 Bond Proposal of almost $15 million.
That proposal was defeated at the polls. The board has come up with
a more cost efficient and educationally effective plan to meet the
needs of the students of the school district now and for the foreseeable
future. For immediate use, the land will be needed for practice
fields for high school and middle school athletic teams when athletic
parking is moved to the land adjacent to the football and soccer
fields. The land will be available for future growth of the district,
and there has even been some talk about a privately funded performing
and visual arts center that could be located there. |
